
Alan Curryer, President and CEO of Rockwood Retirement Communities, was recently recognized for his leadership and service to the senior living community with awards from two organizations.
Caring Communities specializes in services that prevent and reduce the consequences of liability claims asserted against its Member organizations. Caring Communities also provides Members comprehensive liability insurance protection. Alan received the Leadership Award in recognition for his 10 years of service. He currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee and as Treasurer.
LeadingAge Washington is a state trade association serving not-for-profit and mission-driven organizations dedicated to providing quality housing and skilled long-term services. Nominated by his peers, Alan received the organization’s highest award, The Award of Honor. The Award of Honor is given to an individual that embodies an outstanding spirit of care, of vision, of energy, of leadership.
Alan has served Rockwood Retirement Communities for 24 years, beginning as Chief Financial Officer and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and President. Under Alan’s leadership, Rockwood Retirement Communities has expanded housing services for seniors by building Appleway Court, 62 units of affordable housing in Spokane Valley; modifying 2 floors of The Ridge at Rockwood South Hill for Assisted Living; and currently building the 11-story Summit Tower, due to be completed in 2016.
Alan Curryer gives of his time to two local organizations by serving as current Board Chair of Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels, and Secretary for Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest. He is focused on the mission of Rockwood Retirement Communities to serve older adults in our community as well as nationally.
