Shop Small! Small Business Saturday in Spokane (11/28)

SMALL BUSINESSES OWN THE DAY

Shop Small Each Year, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving over 75 Million shoppers support over 1,500 communities, spending an estimated $14.3 Billion to support local, independent businesses. “Small Business Saturday has cemented itself as an important part of the holiday shopping season. Each year, small businesses around the country look to the day as a way to jumpstart their holiday sales,” said Denise Pickett, president of American Express OPEN.

How to get your business ready for Small Business Saturday

  • Put up marketing materials. American Express offers a suite of free marketing materials, but hurry. You need to request them by Nov. 16. You’ll find the list of goodies at www.ShopSmall.com (under “Promote Your Business”)
  • Plan an event in your business. Own a gym, restaurant, spa, kitchen or crafts store? Plan a special class or event to attract customers. Shoppers will not only come, they’ll stay longer, too.
  • Sell online? Get your website ready, too. Drive traffic with special offers, create a landing page of the day, and get active on social media.
  • Download store signage today! http://amex.co/1XCH4Eh
