
INBA Board Member Patrick Striker has been hired as the new Director for Spokane C.O.P.S. Patrick previously served as the Director of Employee Services at Skils’kin, a 501(c)3 non-profit providing services to disabled and developmentally challenged individuals.
As C.O.P.S. Director, Patrick will oversee the activities of the Program Manager, Office Manager and a Fraud Crime Victim Grant Advocate. Additionally, he will participate on several neighborhood and community boards and committees concerned with quality of life issues and safety.
Spokane C.O.P.S. recently ratifies their 2015 contract with the City of Spokane/Police Division. C.O.P.S. is considered an “independent contractor” that organizes community crime prevention strategies in Spokane neighborhoods through education, knowledge and training. The 10 C.O.P.S. stations are located in Spokane neighborhoods are staffed by over 200 volunteers providing more than 33,000 hours of annual community service.
C.O.P.S. runs programs like Block Watch, Business Watch, National Night Out Against Crime, Property Pickup, Sex Offender Watch, Crime Free Multi-housing, Operation Family ID, Safe Streets, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), and Latent Finger Print Program. Additionally, the City has agreed to partner with C.O.P.S. to register bicycles and disperse free bicycle helmets.
