On Sunday, March 1, 2015, the INBA Board of Directors and staff met at SNAP’s Fort George Wright campus for their annual retreat and strategic planning session. For the third year in a row, Professor Jeff Stafford, PhD, of Eastern Washington University, facilitated the discussion.
INBA’s Board of Directors is responsible for setting the course for this organization, and navigating the ever-changing economic, social, political, and technological landscape in our region. The Inland Northwest is a rapidly developing region and INBA aims to be at the forefront of a city recovering from a recession, ready to greet new businesses and citizens moving into this area.
From the past three strategic planning meetings, INBA is primarily focused on membership and community outreach – for good reason. This business chamber is more than just a good way to network while supporting the LGBT initiatives, it’s about the community that supports each other in the most open and proactive ways. In order to support the businesses and individuals that make up INBA, board committees and staff continue to develop new ways to promote members while providing engaging and insightful resources. Planning for membership means more than growing INBA’s numbers, it means helping businesses thrive by giving them the right environment and knowledge. Community Outreach from the board and active members helps position INBA as the lead organization for LGBT issues and information for the media, city hall, other community organizations and state and federal politicians.
