Spokane Humane Society’s 12th Annual

Come join the Spokane Humane Society on Saturday, June 20th their 12th annual pledge-drive dog walk! You, your dog, coworkers, friends and family members are ALL welcome to join the Spokane Humane Society in raising the funds needed to provide food, shelter and veterinary care to the unwanted, neglected and abandoned animals in our community.

Rain or shine, the walk begins at 10 a.m. from the shelter at 6607 N. Havana (East Francis & Bigelow Gulch). Registration starts at 8 a.m. the day of the walk. Early registration is available on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the shelter. Claire Graham, from KHQ 6 and Dr. Marty Becker will be our Parade Grand Marshall.

Walkers are asked to collect pledge donations from their family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to help the animals. All walkers collecting $25 will receive a special goodie bag. Those who collect $100 or more in pledges will receive a Parade of Paws T-shirt. Pledge sheets are available on the web site at www.spokanehumanesociety.org and at the shelter. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place individuals (17 and under and 18 and over) raising the most money.

Groups of five people or more may form a Team. The teams raising the most will be awarded special team prizes. Lead Dog (Team leader) information dog packs are also available on the web site. Community members who want to be part of the walk, but are unable attend can be “Virtual Walkers”. Registration for all walkers and is available at www.spokanehumanesociety.org. Donations may also be made on the website.

In the past, we’ve had more than 900 walkers and we raised over $70,000 to help the animals!  Our 2015 goal is to have 1,100 walkers and raise $75,000.
