
Last Wednesday, INBA hosted SNAP’s Manager of Business Development Services, Cameryn Flynn. Cameryn recently returned from Africa, working on microenterprise initiatives including microloans and English as a second language programs. Her primary position with SNAP involves many of the same activities, helping small business owners in the Inland Northwest. According to Flynn, microenterprise is the heart of Spokane’s economy.
The flagship program for SNAP’s small business development is the Women’s Business Center. The WBC operates on a 5-year grant from the Small Business Administration and is primarily focused on growing women-owned-businesses– but is also available to men– and offers numerous business courses and events to help small businesses thrive.

In addition to business development services, SNAP is known for its energy assistance programs, having served over 43,000 citizens since the program’s inception and transitioned 385 people from homeless to permanent housing.
