“Numerica is committed to enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams, and building communities by supporting our members’ financial needs as well as the overall needs of the community,” said Kelli Hawkins, Communications Manager. “By partnering with organizations like INBA, Numerica is proud to be able to serve a diverse range of community members and business owners.”
Numerica Credit Union recently unveiled its new Regal branch at 4911 S. Regal on Spokane’s South Hill. The branch feels more like a high-end coffee shop than your typical credit union. It boasts approximately 2,600 square feet with a new concept that changes the flow of how business is done for the credit union. The project began construction in April 2015, but original planning began in early February 2015 with a variety of stakeholders including members and branch staff.
“We’re here to foster well-being in people’s lives, so it was important for our branch to evoke a stress free, and comfortable environment,” explained Katrina Phillips, Numerica’s Regal branch manager. “The branch has an inviting design that allows us to be personable with our members so that we can easily have conversations about their needs, their goals, and their future plans.”
Just another branch? Think again. From the energy efficient lighting to the iPads and charging stations at the tech bar, this is not your typical financial institution, according to Mike Goldbach, Numerica’s assistant vice president of purchasing and facilities. Goldbach explained that the open layout and non-traditional teller lines are a physical translation of Numerica’s approach to being open and transparent.
“The Regal branch creates an inviting space that challenges traditional concepts of what a financial institution should look like,” Goldbach said. “From the furniture and the tech bar, to the kid-friendly game stations and the electronic displays, the new design is built with members in mind.”
Phillips explained how the new design has changed the business flow of the credit union. Staff are considered “universal”, meaning each staff member can assist with any request, ranging from deposits/withdrawals, to opening new accounts, to performing loan transactions. She said this gives the member more options in service due to the higher level of training of each staff -member. Everyone is also trained on all the latest technology in order to better serve as educators to members.
“We have removed barriers in our building which helps to enable the sharing of information between our team and our members,” said Phillips. “We have designed our new branch so that we can partner with our members in helping them enhance their lives and fulfill their dreams.”
The branch is open Mon. – Thurs., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Fri., 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sat. The location also houses an advanced 24-hour, walk-up ATM that accepts check and cash deposits, provides balances, prints transaction information, and provides cash.
