
Spokane, WA, August 25, 2016 – Laura Lawton-Forsyth, president of Lawton Printing Services and File-EZ Folder is being inducted into the Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame, only the fifth woman to receive the honor.
Lawton-Forsyth is the fourth generation of the Lawton family to lead the company as president, a post she has held since 2001. She is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA with a degree in print management. She joined the company in 1991 and has worked in a variety of roles, including customer service, scheduling and within the company’s publications division before being named president in October 2001. In addition to serving on several local and regional non-profit boards including the Independent Colleges of Washington, Rypien Foundation, Cal Poly Graphic Communications Advisory Board and Association of Washington Business, she serves as a board member and past president of the Pacific Printing Industries of America and past board member for Printing Industries of America and Kodak Commercial Printing Advisory Group. Laura has been married to Bob Forsyth since 1991 and the couple have two children.
The Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Hall of Fame, now in its 32nd year recognizes leadership in the printing industry across the nation. This class of four inductees is unique as Lawton-Forsyth becomes only the fifth woman to be inducted. All four inductees are from privately-held, family companies, showing the health, longevity and entrepreneurial spirit of the industry. Additionally, all four are under 60, which shows a new generation of well-trained leaders emerging to propel the industry forward with advances in technology and innovation.
